I became a Parent Governor in November 2015. I have one child at the school who follows two older cousins, who also attended HCC in recent years.
As a Governor, I would like to represent the viewpoint of everyday parents; to ask questions important to us and when necessary to challenge the leadership team. I would like to help ensure accountability and improvements in the schools performance, better Ofsted reports and happier, well-adjusted, resilient youngsters. I am currently a member of the Teaching and Learning Committee and wanted to become a Governor to bring perceptiveness, balance and an open and questioning nature to the role.
My career was firstly Field Sales Management and then, after starting a family, Executive Assistant positions. Through luck, rather than through judgement, I found a career path that suited my personality and organisational skills. I believe it's vital that HCC pupils are given the maximum amount of inspiration, support, guidance and opportunity, to help them find career paths that are inspiring, achievable and enjoyable.
As a family, we enjoy International travel, but having only moved to Honiton 3 years ago, we also like exploring historic and beautiful Devon. For relaxation I read, watch science fiction films and renovate our 190 year old cottage.
I am also a Vice-Chair of the Performance and Pay Committee, the Deputy Link Governor for Safeguarding & SEN and Pupil
