I have been a Non-teaching Governor since 2014 after being at the college for 16 years in total, 7 years as a student and 9 years as a member of staff. Within the college I work as an Additional Needs Assistant and a Cover Supervisor. My specialist areas are Science and P.E. I am currently studying full-time with the Open University in order to achieve a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Biology, so I can become a qualified science teacher. Within the Governing body I am part of the Teaching and Learning Committee and am also involved with the College Executive Team (CET) attending their meetings and helping to advise them when necessary.
I also work two evenings a week at the local leisure centre as a trampolining coach and became the head coach 4 years ago. I find coaching a very rewarding job, with every age group, and run the college’s trampolining club once a week, which luckily always remains popular!
I enjoy working at the college with a range of students of different abilities and love that every day is different. The diverse mix of students and staff make the college a fantastic place to work and I am proud to be a part of it.
