I grew up on Teesside in the North East and really enjoyed science at school. I left to go to the University of Bristol to study Physics and Maths and after that I undertook a variety of jobs like working in a cinema, in a cash centre, voluntary work and a short spell as a bingo caller! I trained as a secondary science teacher and then got a job at Honiton Community College in 2004. I thought I might teach for a few years and 12 years later here I am! I teach KS3 and KS4 science and A Level Physics and some younger students will have met me before as I teach KS2 science as part of the college’s outreach programme.
I have been a governor before at my local primary school where I was Vice Chair and Chair of the Curriculum Committee. At HCC I am on the Teaching and Learning Committee.
When I’m not teaching I enjoy travel, films, music and I’m currently tormenting my neighbours by trying to play the melodeon.
