Mark Gibbs

I am an Appointed Governor, taking up my role in March 2017.

I have worked for the Met Office all my working life and have been very fortunate to progress to a senior role within the organisation without a degree. In 2003 our family, wife and 3 children relocated to Honiton, along with many other Met Office families. I currently have one child at Honiton Community College, one has recently left to study ‘A’ levels at Exeter College and the eldest is working in London.

I have been very fortunate in my various roles in the Met Office to work in a number of dynamic, varied and interesting roles. I hope that I can transfer the experience and insight I have gained in these roles to the benefit of Honiton Community College.

I believe in ensuring that education meets the needs of all pupils regardless of their individual abilities in any area. Everyone has something important to offer sometimes we just have to look a little harder to find it.
